Unemployment is above 12%, we’re concerned about our families making ends meet, and so many of us that are out of work. We're ready to create good green jobs here at home.

With the LA City Green Retrofit and Workforce Development Ordinance approved in April we can rebuild our communities, reduce our city’s carbon footprint, create quality unionized green jobs, and pathways to green careers. Innovative Green Jobs policies like ours are proactive solutions needed toward high road economic growth!

Your leadership and unanimous vote are way ahead of the rest of the nation! In 2010, we look forward to working together to:

• Leverage federal stimulus dollars and other funds to put families and workers to work
• Leading the way to Green Careers by creating jobs and training pipelines for union workers and community members to be the workforce of the future
• Investing in ALL communities and launching the Green retrofits of municipal buildings to reduce our carbon footprint and create jobs.
